The army bomb disposal team was called in to assist in the disposal of a quantity of chemicals at a Dublin hospital this morning.

Staff at the children's hospital in Crumlin had requested the expertise.

A Defence Forces spokesman said a controlled explosion was carried out and the operation went according to plan.
