Cabinet meet to discuss gang crime

Minister for Justice Brian Lenihan and two senior ministers are to meet the Garda Commissioner in coming weeks to discuss a recent rise in gangland crime.

The Government today held a lengthy discussion on the issue at its weekly Cabinet meeting ahead of a one-day Dáil debate tomorrow.
