Increased litter fine 'sends clear message', says Gormley

Litter louts throwing rubbish on the streets now face on-the-spot fines of €150, Minister for Environment John Gormley warned today.

The Green Party leader has increased the penalty by €25 in attempt to crackdown on the problem in cities, towns and villages across the state.
