Garda 'amazed' by quick identification of blackmailer

A private detective identified within 24 hours the source of blackmail calls to an innocent man during a murder investigation, but it took gardaí years to get the same information, it emerged today.

Donegal private investigator Billy Flynn was hired by publican Frank McBrearty Senior in the late 1990s to clear his family’s name after they were wrongly implicated in the killing of cattle dealer Richie Barron in Raphoe.
