File being prepared for DPP following sex assault

Gardaí are preparing a file for the DPP in connection with a sexual assault in Galway during the weekend.

A woman was attacked on wasteground behind Ceannt Station between 8pm and 9pm on Friday night.

A local man was arrested in connection with the attack on Saturday morning, but was later released without charge.

The DPP will decide whether to press any charges in the case.
