Man arrested in connection with Limerick shooting

Gardaí in Limerick have arrested a man in connection with last night's shooting in the city.

The incident happened in the St Mary's area in the early hours of this morning.

A 21-year-old man was seriously injured and was taken to the Mid Western Regional hospital for treatment.

A man in his 20s was arrested shortly after the incident.

He is being detained at Henry Street Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act.
