FF meets in Wicklow to discuss priorities for new Dáil

Fianna Fáil's TDs, Senators and MEPs are gathering in Co Wicklow today to discuss priorities and strategies for the upcoming Dáil term.

The theme of the two-day think-in is "National and Local Government Working Together to Build Communities".

The speakers will include economist and former Dublin footballer Robbie Kelleher, who is expected to address the short-term prospects for the Irish economy.

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, is also expected to unveil plans to create a Fianna Fáil presence in the North.

The move is expected to take the form of some kind of alliance with the SDLP.
