Live Register figures down by 1,000

The numbers of people signing on the Live Register was down from 163,000 in July to 162,000 in August, a decrease of 1,000. This compares with an increase of 800 in July.

The standardised unemployment rate in August was 4.7%. This compares with 4.6%, the latest seasonally adjusted unemployment rate from the Quarterly National Household Survey.
