Man appears in court accused of attempted armed robbery
A man will appear in court today charged with attempting to rob a west Belfast bar at gunpoint.
A man brandishing a hand gun went into the Glenowen Inn, in Andersonstown, on Sunday night and demanded the contents of the till.
But customers and staff in the Glen Road bar pounced on him, took away the gun and threw him out of the premises.
A 44-year-old man was last night charged with attempted armed robbery and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear.
He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates’ Court today, said a PSNI spokesman.
