Ryanair announces new charge for airport check-ins
Ryanair has announced a new charge for the privilege of checking in luggage at airports.
The company says it will be introducing a new charge of €3 for airport check-ins from September 20.
The airline will also be scrapping its online for check-in fee for people who only have carry-on bags in an effort to encourage people to use the facility and to discourage them from bringing luggage.
Ryanair says the move will also cut queues and overcrowding at airports, but the Consumers Association says the airline is simply exploiting passengers by adding another charge to the litany of fees it already levies on its customers.
