Gardaí recover potential murder weapon at scene of Laois investigation
Gardaí say they have recovered what they believe to be a murder weapon from the home of murdered Laois man Pat Burke.
The 55-year-old was found dead in a downstairs bedroom of the house in Ballybrittas on Sunday night.
A post-mortem revealed that he died from multiple blows to the head.
Superintendent Philip Lyons who is leading the investigation said today that Gardai will be interviewing all witnesses and all people they believe have evidence or anything to offer to their investigation.
He added: "We will not be discussing the result of our technical examination at the scene other than to state that we recovered an item that we believe may be the murder weapon."
