The percentage of students in the North achieving top grades in their A-level exams has risen to around a third, according to the results out today.

The percentage of students in the North achieving top grades in their A-level exams has risen to around a third, according to the results out today.

The figure has been disclosed as some 25,000 pupils receive their results today and is significantly higher than the 25% who achieved an A grade in England and Wales.
