IFA and Glanbia discuss situation facing pig farmers
The Irish Farmers Association has been meeting Glanbia management today to discuss the situation facing pig farmers supplying the company's Edenderry processing plant.
The factory was badly damaged in a fire over the weekend.
Speaking after today's talks, IFA president Padraig Walshe said Glanbia was planning to increase capacity at its Roscrea plant to take over the processing activities from Edenderry.
He said this would be a large operation and the IFA was anxious to ensure the switchover takes place as quickly as possible.
