No further preventative measures are required to stop the spread into Ireland of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) despite confirmation of a second case in the UK, Minister for Agriculture Mary Coughlan said today.

Ms Coughlan branded the latest outbreak on a farm near the original infection area in Surrey as disappointing but not surprising, given its proximity to the first site.
