The Government will donate €500,000 in emergency aid for flood victims in Asia.

The Government will donate €500,000 in emergency aid for flood victims in Asia.

Overseas Development Minister Tom Kitt approved the fund, which is to be allocated to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

The money will go to the most seriously affected countries, Bangladesh, China and Pakistan, and the aid will be distributed according to their needs.

Meanwhile Trócaire has pledged an initial €180,000 for relief efforts in India and Bangladesh.
