Police in the North were today still questioning a man in connection with the murder of a 40-year-old man in Co Derry.

Police in the North were today still questioning a man in connection with the murder of a 40-year-old man in Co Derry.

Another man was released without charge after being questioned about the attack in Magherafelt.

The victim of the murder was today named as Declan McNeill from Glenburn Park in the town.

The body of the victim was discovered in the hallway of a house in the Baron's Court area of the town at around 5am yesterday.

Meanwhile, two men were still being questioned by detectives in Derry about the separate murder of a 19-year-old from the Republic in the city.

Liam Devlin from Burnfoot in Co Donegal died in hospital after being assaulted at around 2.30am in Rinmore Drive in the Creggan area of the city.

His death was condemned by SDLP councillor Jim Clifford who said the incident was very disturbing.
