Man killed in apartment shooting in Meath

A man was shot dead in an early morning gun attack at an apartment block in Co Meath.

Two men entered the building in Dunboyne and fired a shot through the door of an apartment, hitting the victim inside.

The man was rushed to James Connolly Memorial Hospital, Blanchardstown, where he later died.

Gardaí at Ashbourne Station are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting, which happened at 1.30am.

“The scene has been sealed off for technical examination and a post-mortem will be carried out later today,” said a garda spokesman.
