Two escape unharmed after helicopter crash in Wicklow

Two people have survived a helicopter crash near Newtownmountkennedy in Co Wicklow.

The British-registered light training helicopter came down at around 6pm yesterday evening.

The pilot and passenger are understood to have escaped unharmed, but the chopper was completely destroyed after being engulfed in fire soon after impact.

The Air Accident Investigation Unit has mounted an inquiry to determine the cause of the accident.
