Ryan to meet illegal Irish immigrants in New York
Green Party minister Eamon Ryan is today due to meet Irish people living and working illegally in the United States.
Mr Ryan is visiting the Irish Immigration Centre in New York's Bronx before heading to Yonkers to hear the stories of undocumented Irish workers.
The Government has bought so-called "carbon offsets" to compensate for the pollution caused by Mr Ryan's flights and those of his officials.
The minister is also travelling around New York by subway rather than using the traditional limousine and will be heading to Washington on Thursday by train rather than plane.
