Public concern for heritage on increase, says report
Protecting Ireland's heritage is the fifth most important priority for public spending, a new report reveals today.
The in-depth study, carried out for the Heritage Council, is the largest of its kind to take place in the country.
Focusing on what people think of their heritage, it found the public are becoming increasingly concerned about the need to safeguard it for the future.
Its full findings will be revealed later today by Michael Starrett, chief executive of the Heritage Council and researcher, Dr Craig Bullock.
