Cork Airport is set to operate as normal this morning following a hoax bomb alert on board a Futura Airways flight from Portugal yesterday evening.

A passenger alerted the Futura Airways cabin crew after finding a note inside an in-flight magazine which stated that there was a bomb on board the plane.

The aircraft landed and was quickly evacuated before the airport was closed. Emergency services then carried out a thorough search of the plane.

The alert was later confirmed as a hoax and the airport is set to operate as normal this morning.
