Several hurt in Kilkenny lorry crash

A number of motorists have been injured in a crash involving an articulated lorry in Co Kilkenny, gardaí said today.

The accident happened just after 9.30am on the N9 at Sugarstown, about 3km south of Thomastown.

Emergency services were at the scene but a garda spokesman said the number of people injured was not yet known.

“Gardaí are advising motorists that the N9 is closed and will remain closed for most of the remainder of the day. Diversions are in operation,” he said.

“Motorists travelling between Dublin and Waterford should travel via Kilkenny or any other alternative route.”
