Two Shell to Sea protesters cut free from van in Mayo

Two Shell to Sea protesters who had chained themselves to the bottom of a van in Co Mayo, blocking a road, have been removed.

They were cut free at around 15.20pm by Fire Brigade staff, observed by gardaí.

They have been taken to Mayo General Hospital.

The road between Belmullet and Ballycastle is expected to re-open shortly.
