Two men remain in police custody today over the brutal murder of Latvian mother of two Baiba Saulite.

Two men remain in police custody today over the brutal murder of Latvian mother of two Baiba Saulite.

The 28-year-old was gunned down by a hitman as she smoked a cigarette with her neighbour at the front door of her home in Holywell Square, Swords, north Dublin, last November.

Her young sons were asleep upstairs when the shooting took place, on the evening of November 19.

Gardaí said that yesterday morning four people were in connection with the ongoing investigation.

Two women, both aged 20, were released last night without charge. A file is being prepared for the DPP.

Two men, aged 19 and 23 years, are still being detained in Coolock and Swords garda stations under section 30 of The offences Against The State Act.

They can be held for a period of 72 hours from the time of their arrests.

A €10,000 reward for information on the killing has been offered by Crimestoppers.
