Three arrested in relation to body found in Galway freezer
Three people have been arrested in connection with the murder of Patrick McCormack, whose body was found in a freezer in Galway last month.
Shortly after 7am, gardaí arrested a 43-year-old man in the Knocknacarra area of the city.
He is being held in Galway city under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Two women, one in her 20s and the other in her 40s, are being held in Galway and Loughrea garda stations under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
The body of 52-year-old Patrick McCormack from Artane in Dublin was discovered in a walk-in freezer at the rear of a fish shop in Galway last month.
A post mortem revealed that he had died as a result of severe head injuries.
A major investigation involving up to 50 gardaí and investigators was launched. It is not yet known when Mr McCormack was killed.
