New bus lane opens on Dublin quays

A new bus lane has come into effect on Dublin's quays this morning.

The Quality Bus Corridor reduces long stretches of Dublin's north quays to single-lane traffic.

It is hoped that it will reduce bus journeys by up to 15 minutes, but there are fears that it will add to traffic congestion for private motorists.

The new bus lane runs on St John's Road West, Parkgate St, Ellis Quay and Arran Quay and will operate from 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday.
