USI calls for medical cards for students
The Union of Students in Ireland is today calling on the Government to extend the medical card scheme to students and young people.
They say that college-goers find doctor visits too expensive and cannot afford to go when they are sick.
A report by the union found that one-in-five Irish people do not visit the doctor when they are ill because of the cost.
This compares to just 2% of people in the North.
