Eleven people are being treated in hospital for crush injuries following an accident at the Natural History Museum in Dublin city centre.

A stone staircase collapsed this morning as a group of primary school teachers were being given a tour of the facility.

It is understood that it happened in an area which is not usually accessible to the public.

The injured were rushed to hospitals around the city centre, including Saint James's, Saint Vincent's and the Mater - but it's understood their injuries are not life threatening.
