Young man dies after hit-and-run in south Dublin

Gardaí in Dublin are investigating a fatal hit-and-run on the Dundrum road in the south of the city this morning.

The accident happened just before 5.30am at the junction between Bird Avenue and Mulvey Park.

The victim, a young man, was found on the road with serious injuries and pronounced dead a short time later at St Vincent's Hospital.

Gardaí have sealed off the scene of the incident for technical examination and are also calling on any witnesses to come forward.
