Man found in freezer 'died of head injury'
A post mortem on the body of the man who was found in a freezer in Galway last week has shown he died of a head injury.
The examination was carried out earlier today, and initial results also indicate that he was assaulted.
The body of 52-year-old Patrick McCabe was found in plastic container in freezer at back of fish shop off Henry Street on Wednesday of last week.
Mr McCabe is believed to have been involved in drug dealing, and was last seen alive five years ago in Dublin.
He was first reported missing four years ago.
Gardaí said this afternoon that further tests would have to be carried out to determine when he died.
