A man was killed this morning following a road accident in Co Roscommon, Gardaí have confirmed.

A man was killed this morning following a road accident in Co Roscommon, Gardaí have confirmed.

The incident happened just before 9am on the main N5 road between Longford and Westport.

The 20-year-old driver of a van was killed in the single vehicle crash.

The road remains closed.
