Body in Dublin apartment is daughter of leading heart surgeon

The daughter of leading heart surgeon Maurice Nelligan has been found dead at an apartment in Dublin city centre.

Sara Nelligan, who was in her early 30s, was discovered at the apartment on Pearse Street yesterday evening, apparently after her friends became concerned for her safety.

A man in his late 20s is being held by gardaí in connection with the case.

Ms Nelligan is understood to have been stabbed to death.

The apartment where her body was found has been sealed off for technical examination and a post mortem will be carried out later today.
