Three hurt in Sligo crash

Three people were recovering in hospital this evening after their car skidded off the road and went into a river between Sligo and Manorhamilton.

Ambulance and fire services were called to the scene and managed to rescue the two women and one man - all in their twenties.

They were taken to Sligo General Hospital for treatment.

A stretch of the N16 was closed briefly following the incident but has now been re-opened.
