Greens' Boyle 'optimistic' of deal
The Green Party's Dan Boyle has said he is optimistic about the chances of clinching a deal today for going into Government with Fianna Fáil.
"There are still areas where we're looking for final agreement," he said, "(but) we're more confident (of a deal) now than we were last Friday."
While the party leaders Bertie Ahern and Trevor Sargent continue their talks, Dan Boyle is developing on a draft policy document drawn up by the Greens last week.
If a deal is reached, the Greens are apparently planning to hold a conference of party members tomorrow night to seek their backing for the proposals.
