Mother of dog-attack victim calls for more wardens

The mother of a boy who was attacked by two Rotweillers in Co Offaly during the weekend is calling for more dog wardens to be employed.

Seven-year-old Jordan Denn suffered injuries to his head, hip and legs when he was bitten by the dogs near his home in Edenderry on Saturday night.

The dogs had escaped from the garden of a nearby house.

Neighbours say they alerted Gardaí to the loose dogs an hour before the incident, but no dog warden could be found to pick up the animals.

Speaking this morning, Jordan's mother Martina said the Gardaí should have knocked on doors and warned people that the Rotweillers were loose.
