Council begins work to upgrade Dublin's water pipes

Dublin City Council is beginning work today on a €118m project to upgrade the city's dilapidated water pipes.

Dublin City Council is beginning work today on a €118m project to upgrade the city's dilapidated water pipes.

The work is being done in phases to minimise disruption and the contractors will work seven days a week to get the job done as quickly as possible.

The first phase is taking place on the outbound lane of the Merrion Road in the south of the city, where traffic restrictions have been put in place.
