Up to 45,000 spectators are expected to attend the Red Bull X Fighters in the Co Meath venue.

The event, which combines rock n’ roll with motor-biking stunts, showcases the best FMX riders in the world.

Gardaí have said that public safety will be a priority, with traffic disruption kept to a minimum.

However, no through traffic will be permitted in the village of Slane, with traffic diversions put in place from 2pm until 2am tomorrow.

Northbound traffic on the N2 will be redirected at Flemington Cross via Duleek towards the M1, while southbound on the N2 will be directed towards the M1 at Collon.

Traffic approaching Slane from Navan on the N.51 will be diverted at Wickers Cross, and vehicles coming from Drogheda will be diverted at the M1 roundabout in Drogheda.

Other diversions include traffic from the north on the M1 going to the event being directed to leave the motorway at the Dunleer/Collon Interchange and travel to Slane via Collon.

Car parking is available on all approach routes.
