As counting continued around the country this afternoon, signs emerged that a number of high-profile candidates appear unlikely to make it to the 30th Dáil.

The PDs were danger of losing at least three seats, include Mae Sexton in Longford Westmeath, Tim O'Malley in Limerick East and Liz O'Donnell in Dublin South.
