Young woman still critically ill after Dublin knife attack
A 27-year-old woman remains in a critical condition this morning after she was stabbed in the neck during a knife attack in Dublin over the weekend.
Newstalk radio researcher Mairead O'Dwyer was set upon near her home in Rialto in the early hours of Saturday morning after a night out with work colleagues.
She was stabbed a number of times and had to undergo almost eight hours of surgery.
The young woman, who is originally from Clonmel in Co Tipperary, is in a stable but critical condition.
Gardaí believe robbery was the most likely motive for the attack.
