A mother and daughter found dead in their home will be laid to rest today.
Following a funeral Mass at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Bundoran, Co Donegal, Caitriona and Caitlin Innes will be buried in St Ninnidh's Cemetery, only a few miles from the family home.
Ms Innes, a single mother, was found dead in the house in Letterkenny that she shared with her daughter.
Gardaí made the grim discovery after being alerted by one of Ms Innes' workmates.
Caitlin and her mother were found dead in their home on the quiet Gortlee estate on Tuesday, the day before the schoolgirl was to celebrate her eighth birthday.
It is believed the troubled 26-year-old suffocated her daughter before taking her own life late on Sunday.
The funeral mass will take place at 11am.
Roisin Uí Fhearraigh, principal of Scoil Mhuire Gan Smal in Letterkenny, where Caitlin went to school, will attend and local Fianna Fáil TD Dr Jim McDaid said he also planned to be there.
Police appealed for the family to be allowed to grieve in privacy during the removal and funeral service.
