Nurses and midwives across Ireland have been banned by their unions from working any overtime, it emerged tonight.

Nurses and midwives across Ireland have been banned by their unions from working any overtime, it emerged tonight.

The executives of the Irish Nurses Organisation (INO) and the Psychiatric Nurses Association (PNA) have instructed its 45,000 members to work only contracted hours.
