File sent to DPP on actions of Kerry FF councillor
The Standards in Public Office Commission has sent a file to the DPP in relation to the actions of a Fianna Fáil town councillor from Co Kerry.
The political watchdog has been investigating Councillor Patrick O'Donoghue and Fine Gael's Sheila Casey, the Mayor of Killarney, in relation to an alleged breach of ethics.
The investigation centred on a decision by the town council to rezone land at the Gleneagle Hotel.
Councillor O'Donoghue's family own the hotel, while Councillor Casey is an employee of the Gleneagle group.
The Standards in Public Office Commission is understood to be recommending that no further action be taken against Ms Casey, but has sent a file to the DPP in connection with Mr O'Donoghue.
