Consultants row 'could affect medical training'

One of the country's leading specialist medical colleges has warned that the current row over consultants' contracts could have a knock on effect on future standards in medical training and patient care.

The consultants' body the IHCA has refused to back the introduction of new contracts put forward by the Minister for Health Mary Harney.
