The election circus continues today, with the leaders of the main political parties set to visit a number of key constituencies in the hope of shoring up valuable votes.

The election circus continues today, with the leaders of the main political parties set to visit a number of key constituencies in the hope of shoring up valuable votes.

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, will be in Tallaght and Swords, while Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny is visiting Athy and Labour leader Pat Rabbitte will be turning his attention to Dublin South East.

Green Party leader Trevor Sargent, meanwhile, will be in Co Louth, while Sinn Féin will launch Gerry Adams' nationwide tour at its head office in Dublin.

The various parties are also publishing a number of policies today, with Fianna Fáil focusing on pensions, the Greens on the economy and the PDs on transport.

Fine Gael will be seeking to highlight the Government's broken promises, while Labour plans to highlight areas where it says it can make a difference.
