Police today named the man stabbed to death in an apparent domestic incident in the North.

William McMillan (aged 58), of Grays Park Drive, in the Bevoir area of south Belfast, died in hospital last night after the attack.

A man in his early 40s – believed to be the victim’s brother – was arrested and remains in police custody in connection with the stabbing.

Detectives said they are not looking for anyone else as part of their investigation.

Mr McMillan is understood to have suffered multiple stab wounds to the back and the chest in his Grays Park Drive home.

Police called an ambulance to the scene after finding the victim.

He was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital but died a short time later.
