RIAI and Simon Community launch 'Open Door' campaign

The Simon Community and the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland are launching their nationwide 'Simon Open Door' campaign today.

This will give members of the public the unique opportunity of a one hour consultation with an architect in return for a €60 donation to the Simon Community.

This is the third year the campaign has been running and last year it raised over €5,000 for those who experience homelessness.

Simon Director Patrick Burke said that the event goes a long way in providing much needed hope and says they want to exceed the figure this year.

He has also urged the Government to address the lack of an adequate database of people who are homeless.
