Teenager injured in Limerick shooting

A 16-year-old has been injured in a shooting in the Moyross area of Limerick this morning.

The incident happened at around 1am.

The teenager is being treated in hospital, where his condition is described as stable.

This incident comes as gardaí continue to question a man in his 20s who was detained in the Moyross area last night. He was arrested after gardaí discovered a loaded revolver during one of a number of planned searches following the murder of Noel Campion yesterday.

The 34-year-old was shot dead in the Thomandgate area of the city in what is believed to be a feud-related killing.

The man detained in connection with Mr Campion's death is being held at Mayorstone garda station under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act.
