Young women rescued from Lough Corrib

Two young women have been rescued from Lough Corrib in Co Galway after getting into difficulties overnight.

The alarm was raised just after midnight near Oughterard Pier.

They were brought to shore by a local boat and taken to hospital, where they were treated for hypothermia.

One of the women has since been discharged, while the other remains under observation.
