UUP selects Empey and McGimpsey as Stormont ministers

The Ulster Unionist Party has named Michael McGimpsey as the Health Minister in the North's new power-sharing Executive.

Party leader Reg Empey will take the role of Employment Minister, but Mr McGimpsey's selection as the party's second minister is something of a surprise. Danny Kennedy or Alan McFarland had been tipped to get the job.

Mr McGimpsey has previous ministerial experience as he had the culture, arts and leisure portfolio in the last power-sharing Executive.
