Stricken cargo ship being towed into port

The cargo ship that lost engine power following a fire earlier this week is being towed to port in Cork today after two days adrift off the coast of Kerry.

The 15 crew on board the West Sailor managed to put out the fire two days ago, but they could not get the motor restarted.

The International Transport Federation has expressed concern for the Polish and Filipino crew members amid claims that they were not allowed to evacuate the ship during the blaze.
